A MAN who allegedly beat up his wife because she posted her selfies on Instagram has been charged with domestic violence and making criminal threats.
Julio Benitiez, 37, was said to have been taking drugs before he became angry at his wife for posting the photos of herself online.
As she began deleting the pictures he choked her and punched her, causing injuries to her eyes, arms, legs and neck, police said.
The victim managed to flee with two of her children, aged five and seven, but was not able to grab their two-year-old child.
Police officers then launched a manhunt for Benitiez.
When they eventually found him they convinced him to come home.
They found him to be under the influence of narcotics and in possession of a firearm.
He was booked into a local jail in Fresno, California, US.
The two-year-old was unharmed.
