Precisely on the 10th of May, 2015, R&B sensation Niyola delivered visuals to her latest single titled ‘’Last Bus-stop’’. The dead-give-away single which has been described as the ultimate wedding/love song has been generating a lot of buzz for perhaps the right reasons. There is strong speculation among her teeming fans especially the male folk who have remained stricken by her sultry looks and vocals, that the new single is a subtle hint at her intention and readiness to settle down finally with Mr. Right. But how true that is remains mere speculations. Speaking to Str8upbangin.com in a telephone chat recently, the artiste laughingly denied the rumor making the rounds with an emphatic ’’No’’ when asked point blank if she was planning on getting married any time soon and if ‘’Last Bus-stop’’ was actually her very own wedding soundtrack. According her, ‘’Last Bus-stop’’ is her wedding gift to humanity; for the married couples as well as those yet to wed but intent on tying the knot someday and this is in appreciation of the love shown her over the years. However speculations seemed to have been further heightened by the slant of the script for the shoot which presented Niyola and an unnamed male playing the wedding couple in a flick directed by fast rising and talented Kemi Adetiba. The video was shot on location in Lagos. Since her rather painful break up with her boo, Freestyle years back, she has cleverly shunned romance and has not been romantically linked to any male or perhaps she has been most discreet in her affairs with the males. Rather her career has recorded an astronomical rise in the last couple of months and years. Although her relationship with her C.E.O, EME’s Banky W have been touted as having romantic undertones but nothing has been proven to the affirmative so far.
Niyola has consistently remained one of the few respected and not just a female but premiere vocalist who has consistently been putting out good music longer than most but has remained relevant and who is right now at the top of her game. ‘’Last Bus-stop’’ is Niyola’s latest single which has been garnering generous airplay since dropping in late December of 2014. Other compelling singles before it like ‘’Love To Love You’’ featuring Banky W, ‘’Belle No Be Showglass’’ featuring Sound Sultan, ‘’Na You’’ has all added to make her forthcoming full-length album one of the most anticipated in a while, not just among her fans but industry people as well. Niyola stole our hearts with her exquisite vocals in late 2000 with her debut set under the defunct Westside Music. The forthcoming album will be her second and sophomore offering and so far, there is ample musical evidence that the album is going to be nothing short of a collectors’ item! The album is billed tentatively to drop in October of 2015.
