#royalbaby: The Royal Baby Birth Will Be Announced On Twitter First

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will announce the birth of Royal baby no. 2 (RB2) via Twitter, much like any new parents (although we doubt they’ll be oversharing on Facebook).
No need to worry about queuing up outside Buckingham Palace to find out the sex of Kate and Wills’ second baby – you’re better off just following Clarence House and the British Monarchy on Twitter, according to The Sunday Times.
However, after the Twitter announcement the couple will stick with tradition and news of the Royal birth will also be posted on the traditional easel in front of the palace, as with big brother Prince George and dad Prince William.
When Prince George was born on July 22 2013, it was first announced to the press via an emailed press release.
The formal notice, signed by the doctors who delivered him, was then taken by police escort to Buckingham Palace to be displayed.

A palace spokesman said at the time: ‘We wanted to retain some of the theatre of the notice. It is quite important to us that this is done properly and with the degree of dignity that the event demands. This is the birth of a child who will be in line to the throne. It is a rare occasion and it is nice to be able to do it with some historical precedence.’
Royal sources say there will be slightly less ceremony around the delivery of the piece of paper this time round – the notice will apparently go out the side door and be delivered to the palace in an unmarked car.
Of course, what we’re all really interested in is whether it will be #babygirl or #babyboy.
Ladbrokes is offering odds of 8/15 of the baby being a girl baby and 11/8 for a boy.
As for when it’s going to happen, April 29 (the couple’s fourth wedding anniversary) is now favourite among punters, at odds of 4/1.
Best keep an eye on your Twitter feed for the next few days then.
