A beauty contestant couldn’t mask her rage after she was passed over for the title of Miss Amazon, snatching the crown off the winner’s and throwing it to the floor.
The finalists smiled and held hands as Carolina Toledo, 20, was announced as the 2015 winner of the Brazilian beauty pageant.
But Sheislane Hayalla lost it as Ms Toledo was crowned, snatching the tiara off her rival’s head and throwing it to the floor before storming off the stage.
‘Money talks in Manaus and I wanted to show the Amazon people money doesn’t talk here,’ Ms Hayalla, who accused Ms Toledo of buying her way to the title, later said.
‘She didn’t deserve the title.’
Ms Toledo, however, declined to comment on the drama, simply saying that winning was ‘an unbelievable feeling’.
The winner will now represent the state in the Miss Brazil beauty contest.
