When a groom suffered a fit at his wedding, the bride showed little panic.
Instead, 23-year-old Indira was angry she knew nothing of Jugal Kishore’s medical history, and grabbed her sister’s brother-in-law to wed instead.
The 25-year-old groom collapsed as he extended his arms to put a garland around his would-be-wife at the ‘varmala’ ceremony in India.
He was rushed to a doctor but by the time he’d regained consciousness and returned to the ceremony, he found Indira in the arms of Harpal Singh, reports Times of India.
Jugal pleaded with Indira – his family as well – and violence erupted with spoons and plates used as weapons.
Three people were arrested. But Indira stood firm.
RP Solanki, of Milak police station, said: ‘Both families have amicably resolved the matter.
‘The complaints have been withdrawn. Kishore and his family have now returned in peace to Moradabad.’
