The body of Danah Vince was found at her home in Bristol today. Her death comes a year after she was cleared of causing the death of her daughter Pari Vince-Stephens.
Then partner William Stephens was jailed for six years at Bristol Crown Court earlier this year for the manslaughter of their 16-year-old baby.
Ms Vince's cause of death is still unknown after the results came back inconclusive.
A police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of the discovery of the body of a woman in a property in Southmead, Bristol, on November 29.
"A post mortem into the death has been held but this was inconclusive.
"The matter was referred to the coroner as a sudden death.
"We are continuing to make enquiries on behalf of the coroner."
During the trial last year, jurors heard how Ms Vince and Stephens had a "volatile" relationship and were even forced to sign agreements to not be violent towards each another.
On the night of Paris' death, she was brought in to Bristol Children's Hospital with "catastrophic" head injuries.
Both Stephens, and Ms Vince denied inflicting her injuries.
But the court heard how Stephens, who has the IQ in the low 50s, had shaken Paris to stop her crying, causing her a fatal brain bleed.
Paris died in January last year after doctor's tried for two days to save her life.
Stephens, of Fonthill Road, Southmead, was convicted of manslaughter and Ms Vince was cleared of any wrongdoing.
Sentencing him, trial judge Mr Justice Teare told Stephens: "You will have to live with the fact that you killed your daughter."
