LeBron James reigns supreme! The NBA player beat out soccer superstar
Cristiano Ronaldo as the world’s fittest athlete in the special ‘Sports
Illustrated’ issue.
Soccer fans, avert your eyes! In the first-ever Sports Illustrated’s 50
Fittest athletes issue, Cleveland Cavaliers player LeBron James,
29, topped major athletes to take the magazine’s first place rank.
LeBron is making headlines yet again! The
two-time NBA championship player, who recently announced he
was returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers after he opted out of his contract
with the Miami Heat, has secured the top spot in Sports Illustrated’s 50 Fittest
athletes.
The athletes were ranked in four categories: speed, strength, agility and
endurance.
LeBron was the only athlete to achieve a 10 in all four categories. His
perfect score beat out Cristiano
Ronaldo, 29, Usain
Bolt, 27, and Floyd Mayweather,
37.
Athletes from all arenas rounded out the list:
Here are the top 10 fittest athletes: LeBron, Cristiano, Usain, Floyd, Dez
Bryant, 25, Calvin Johnson, 28, Serge Ibaka,
24, Adrian Peterson, 29, Jon Jones, 27, and Michael Phelps,
29.
After four years with the Miami Heat, LeBron is “coming home” to Cleveland.
LeBron posted a heartfelt message to SI.com on July 11, detailing his decision to
return.
One of the main reasons LeBron wanted to go back to Cleveland was reportedly
because of his family.
His wife, Savannah Brinson, is set
to welcome their first baby girl any day now. LeBron has also
reportedly registered his two sons, LeBron James, Jr.,
9, and Bryce Maximus James, 6, up for school in Cleveland for
fall 2014.

what a joke, Lebron plays a game with a total play time of 48 minutes and covers a tiny court from end to end. NBA players are not even remotely close to the level of endurance of AFL players or soccer players. The average AFL player will cover around 9 miles a game with soccer not far behind. AFL players will do this while taking and dishing out hits they also have every bit the same level of agility as a basketball player. Way to go SI you just flagged your irrelevance and ignorance of global sport.
