Suspect Arrested In Rape Case That Led To HIV-Virus Infection In Lagos

Police have arrested a man known as Fatai, suspected to be part of the gang that raped 19 year old Helen in Bariga, Lagos. Helen was raped in January 2014 on her way to work by 5:30 am and was also robbed of her phone and money by the gang. After the incident, she ran medical tests and was informed she had the HIV virus.
Saharareporters says the men of the Bariga Police Division, led by their DPO, Mr. Edmund Afraimu, took up the matter and swung into action after the sexual attack was reported at the Station earlier in the week. Fatai's brother, another member of the gang is still at large. Police believe he is out in the public continuing to rape young women in Bariga.
