Yes, the social network
has finally joined Twitter in making it easy for users to take part in a public
discussion of television shows, politics and everything.
“To date, there has not
been a simple way to see the larger view of what’s happening or what people are
talking about,” wrote Facebook product manager Greg Lindley in a company blog
post yesterday.
But that has now changed,
with the website using the same "#" to denote hashtags as every other
social site. They will be utilized on
Facebook in the same way as they are on Twitter.
