Nigerian Idol Contestants Mobbed by Music as They hit The Cinemas and Malls in Lagos.

Nigerian Idol is the hottest reality television show on this year, and the out-of-the-blue mall performances by their top 12 contestants this Sunday were definitely a sign that if you have not been watching, you have been missing out.

The 12 grand-prize hopefuls surprised Lagos with performances in Ozone Cinema and the Palms Mall, and turned both locations on their ears with their explosive guerrilla song-and-dance session, blowing the stunned audience away with a perfect bite-sized sample of what viewers should look forward to on the TV show.

Their first stop was at Yaba, at the E-Centre shopping plaza, home of Ozone Cinema. There, the contestants delighted the Sunday afternoon shoppers with their flash mob performance. They started with a well-choreographed dance session to D’banj’s ‘Oliver Twist’, before segueing into the world’s most watched YouTube video, ‘Gangnam Style’, and their energetic and enthusiastic dancing revved up the gathered crowd. For their finale, the contestants brought down the house with their pitch-perfect, harmonised rendition of Rihanna’s smash hit, ‘Diamonds’.

Then they set off for the Palms Mall—and wowed the crowd all over again. The Idol contestants brought both locations to a standstill, and excitement and genuine delight rippled through the audience, and they certainly enjoyed every second of the powerful and entertaining mini-shows.
