Irked by the escape of no fewer than 20 inmates of the Sagamu Prison in Ogun State, the Nigerian Prisons Service has relieved the officer-in-charge of the facility, Mr. Omobitan, of his appointment.
Its gathered that Omobitan who was removed from office for alleged negligence of duty has been replaced with Mr. Ogunmodede who has taken charge of the prison.
It was learnt that the police was interrogating some prison officials over the jailbreak at the facility located on Prisons Street, Isale-Oko, Sagamu.
