His unparalleled blend of technical
acumen and experimentation across rock, blues and psychedelic genres made him a
legend in his own time and beyond.
In honor of the 70th anniversary of his
birth, a "new" album of Hendrix songs, People, Hell & Angels, is due out March 5. Here's the first
single, "Somewhere" ...
The album consists of previously
unreleased Hendrix songs recorded between 1968-1969. The musical visionary died
the following year at the age of 27.
CBS will air several of album's songs
during an episode of Hawaii Five-0 on January 20. See statement from
