BREAKING: Goodluck Jonathan Sacks Aviation Minister, Oduah, Three Others

President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday has finally sacked the embattled Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah.

Others affected were Caleb Olubolade (Police Affairs); Godsday Orubebe (Niger Delta); and Yerima Ngama (State, Finance).

Oduah’s approval for the purchase of two bullet-proof cars for N255m caused public outrage in the country with many Nigerians calling for her removal and prosecution.

Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah Covers Up Certificate Forgery Scandal

An apparently troubled Minister Oduah has however not remembered to revise her official Facebook page. It still has St. Paul’s as the college she attended.

It appears her handler only remembered to edit her profile page only removing all traces of St. Paul’s College from the account. See below screenshots of her unedited Facebook page and her Facebook profile (after the revision).

Outrage as Senate makes U-turn on Stella Oduah

THERE was outrage on Thursday as the Senate rescinded its resolution to have the Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, appear before its members over the October 3 Associated Airlines’ plane crash in Lagos.

Oduah is now to appear before the Senate Committee on Aviation alongside the Chief Executive Officers of the aviation agencies under her ministry.

The Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, who moved a motion for the lawmakers to have a rethink on the invitation of the minister, had argued that the action was based on the Senate Standing Order 53 (6) which empowers it to reverse its decisions.

13 Grounds For EFCC To Prosecute Stella Oduah – Femi Falana

Lagos lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), has given the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission 13 grounds to prosecute the Minister of Aviation, Ms Stella Oduah, and “her agents” for gross misconduct in the purchase of two armoured cars at N255m.

In a November 2, 2013, letter to the EFCC chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde, Falana also gave the commission up till November 8 to make available to him the investigation report on the matter.

Relying on the Court of Appeal’s decision in the case of Dogogo v EFCC (2013), the lawyer threatened to sue the EFCC if it failed to carry out its “statutory duty”.

N255m Car Scandal: President Goodluck Jonathan Finally Moves Against Stella Oduah

According to this Report by the Punch: President Goodluck Jonathan may have finally succumbed to public pressure to move against the embattled Minister of Aviation, Ms Stella Oduah, who is currently being probed over the N255m bulletproof cars bought for her by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority. The development came to the fore with the last-minute decision to stop Oduah from signing the much-publicised Bilateral Air Services Agreement with Israel.

Presidency officials gave the ceremony as the main purpose of her inclusion in the President’s entourage to Israel for this year’s Christian pilgrimage.

In her stead, Minister of State I, Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri, signed the agreement on behalf of the Federal Government while the Deputy Israeli Foreign Minister, Mr. Zeer Elkin, signed on behalf of the Israeli government.

Police Arrest Dino Melaye Over BMW Scandal, As Minister Sends Rented Crowd After Anti-Corruption Campaigners

According to a report by Sahara reporters: A group of anti-corruption protesters was today in Abuja confronted by armed hoodlums escorted by the police to frustrate a public protest aimed at forcing the Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, to resign from office.

The Minister is facing a public uproar over her scandalous purchase of BMW armored cars from a cash-strapped agency in her ministry. Dino Melaye, a former member of the House of Representatives, led the protest, but the protesters were attacked by the crowd who claimed they were there to ‘support’ the Minister.

BMW Scandal: Reps Order Investigation, Enugu Airport Also To Be Probed

The House of Representatives, on Tuesday, tthe first session after resumption from Sallah break tackled the issue of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) BMW scandal involving the Aviation minister.

In a motion sponsored by Sampson Osagie (APC, Edo), an investigation was ordered into the conduct of the minister and the NCAA as regards the purchase of the vehicles. A deadline of one week was also given for the probe.
