Well, here’s an interesting
turn of events. Days after screaming “F*ck Cash Money” at a packed club, Lil
Wayne appears to have squashed the beef with his label.
The Jasmine Brand reports
that Wayne dropped the $51M lawsuit against
the house that Birdman and
Ronald “Slim” Williams built. Exactly what prompted the New Orleans rapper’s
change of heart is unclear. But it’s important to note that the “without
prejudice” clause in the dismissal/settlement means he can re-file
the lawsuit at any time.
Wayne
said that he’d stop hounding Cash Money for the aforementioned fee if he was
paid the $10M owed for
creating Tha Carter V–the in-limbo album that made the
public privy to his beef with the label.
Perhaps
Birdman and Slim tendered the cash Weezy sought. It’s also possible that the
rap star’s deal has been restructured, again. But this is all hearsay, of
course.
Wayne
has been especially candid about his status with Cash Money in recent months.
If that continues, the truth should come to the light sooner or later.
