Father-Of-Two Killed Prostitute And Raped Two More While Young Child Slept Next Door

A DAD-OF-TWO killed a prostitute and then raped two others while his victim's corpse lay close by.

Steven Mathieson, 38, stabbed Luciana Maurer a total of 44 times in a cocaine-fuelled and unprovoked attack last December.
He then raped two more sex workers he called to his house with the pair only escaping after they fled the house naked.
Car salesman Mathieson was said to have been of "impeccable character" before the murder and rapes with a doting partner and a home in a quiet neighbourhood of Falkirk, Stirlingshire.
But the 38-year-old hid a sick secret in that he used sex phone-lines – which lead to Luciana and the other two women turning up at his door.
A judge heard heard how the killing happened while Mathieson's girlfriend was on a night out – and his young child slept next door.
The first offender now faces life in jail after he pleaded guilty at the High Court in Glasgow to murder and rape.
Mathieson – a sales manager with Arnold Clark – was remanded in custody and will return to the dock next month.
The court heard how Mathieson spent the day of the killing – last December 4 – out with family enjoying Christmas shopping.
He later went for a meal with his children while his partner of 10 years went on a works night out.

Mathieson – described as being his "normal self" – then dropped one of his children at his gran's before returning to the tidy family home in Falkirk with his younger son.
He sent a text to his girlfriend stating: "Have a good night. Love you".
But, soon after getting back and putting his boy to bed, Mathieson got his phone and arranged for sex while his partner was out.
Fatefully, Luciana Maurer was one of the escorts who arranged to meet him.
The Romanian-born mum had just arrived in Scotland a few days earlier having moved up from London.
The 23 year-old then turned up at Mathieson's home around 11pm.
But, within minutes, tragic Luciana was dead. Mathieson – high on cocaine – stabbed her 44 times – including cutting her throat.
Mathieson then sent a text to his partner claiming: "Sorry xx".
The court heard Luciana had defensive-type injuries suggesting she had tried to fend off her burly killer.

The two other vice girls Mathieson contacted then arrived at his home - unaware of the bloodbath inside.
When they turned up, they could see Mathieson casually sitting on his couch in the living room.
He then cooly answered the door and lead the oblivious pair upstairs.
Describing the horror that then met them, Prosecutor Jane Farquharson said: "Mathieson went into the bedroom first.
"He put on the light and hung back at the door whilst the women walked in.
"As soon as they entered the bedroom, they saw the deceased, lying on her back and on top of the double bed."
Crazed Mathieson then grabbed two knives from a set of drawers before blocking the door.
