A mother has revealed the heart-breaking letter her 11-year-old daughter sent to her rapist father.
Carly Clarke, 11, wrote the letter last year to father Paul who was convicted of raping his ex-wife Theresa Quinnin over a period of 30 years.
As a result of those sex attacks, she says she does not know which of her six children were born as a result of rape.
He is finally behind bars for his crime and she has since remarried, but the emotional scars of the regular beatings and abuse remain for all the family.
In her letter, Carly, 11, wrote: ‘All I’ve ever wanted is for you to love me. When you hit me, called me names, you made me feel worthless. I still feel it now.’
Mrs Quinnin has waived her right to anonymity in a bid to highlight that there is help for victims of domestic abuse.
Speaking to MailOnline she said: ‘He would smash the whole house up. Once he put the light chord from the bathroom around my throat and tried to strangle me.
She added: ‘I spoke out to help other women that are in the same situation.
‘I just want other women out there to realise they don’t have to give up, don’t let yourself be a victim forever.
‘That’s why I waived my anonymity, because there will be a good many other abusers out there who know how to abuse the system to their advantage, and they will do it.
Clarke was handed a 16 year prison sentence last week.
