Liberian Woman Saves Mother, Father And Sister From Ebola Without Any Personal Protection Equipment

It can be exhausting nursing a child through a nasty bout with the flu, so imagine how 22-year-old Fatu Kekula felt nursing her entire family through Ebola.

CNN reports: Her father. Her mother. Her sister. Her cousin. Fatu took care of them all, single-handedly feeding them, cleaning them and giving them medications.

And she did so with remarkable success. Three out of her four patients survived. That’s a 25% death rate — considerably better than the estimated Ebola death rate of 70%.

Fatu stayed healthy, which is noteworthy considering that more than 300 health care workers have become infected with Ebola, and she didn’t even have personal protection equipment — those white space suits and goggles used in Ebola treatment units.

Lagos State Orders T.B Joshua to Release Names Of Deceased And Survivors

The Lagos State Coroner investigating the cause of the collapse of a six-storey building at the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Ikotun, has directed the church to give the state’s pathologist a copy of the manifest of the people inside the building when it caved in.

Coroner Oyetade Komolafe gave the directive yesterday  at the church during a visit to the scene, following the inavailability of a list containing the names of victims and survivors of the September 12 mishap. No fewer than 115 bodies, mostly South Africans, were recovered from the debris of the building with 131 persons reportedly rescued alive.
TheNation reports that however, there was a disagreement as to whether or not the pathologist needs the list to do his job, with the church’s lawyer, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, stating that DNA samples had been taken over two weeks ago.

No President or State Governor Should Claim Credit for Containing Deadly Ebola Virus in Nigeria - GEJ

Nigeria's President, Goodluck Jonathan says no President or governor of any state should claim credit for containing the deadly Ebola virus in Nigeria. He says the credit should be given to Nigerians who cooperated while the epidermic was at rampage. President Jonathan said this yesterday October 16th while receiving heads of a charity foundation at the state house in Abuja

"I am quiet pleased with what is happening because I believe that government alone cannot solve human problems and anything done by government when you involve the private sector and civil societies, it is always better.
There are success cases. The most recent is our ability to manage Ebola. The key thing that made Nigeria a success is the buying by the ordinary Nigerians.

Loads of Artistes Doing Worse Than Majek Fashek - Ras Kimono

In an interview with Sunnewsonline where he shared his opinion on the current state of the Nigerian music industry, Reggae legend Ras Kimono said the current Nigerian music artistes are doing worse than Majek Fashek. According to him, there is nothing to celebrate in an artiste who releases just a single and declares himself a superstar. He says back in his days, they produced 12-tracked albums for their listeners who would then determine how many of the songs in the albums were hit songs. He says things have changed.

He also said most of the hip-hop stars today smoke and drink to stupor because they think that it is a way of being inspired. He warned that they should be careful about indulging in such as the Nigerian music industry gives an artiste only one chance and that once an African artiste falls, he is dead and buried.
