Pope Francis has been presented with a life-sized chocolate replica of himself, during a general audience at the Vatican.
The pontiff received the gift from master chocolatier Mirco Della
Vecchia, who spent 30 days crafting the figure with his team of
students. Mr Della Vecchia said 1.5 tons of cocoa was used for the replica - and
that another 1.5 tons of chocolate would be donated to the umbrella
Catholic charity organisation Caritas.
The chocolatiers worked on the figure with sculptor Paul Moro Belluno,
who is renowned for his ability to make sculptures from unusual
materials.
