Lamar Odom has finally
admitted that he has a problem. Following weeks of
downward spiraling that included being kicked out of the home he shares with Khloe Kardashian
and being arrested for DUI, the basketball star has reportedly checked into a
rehab facility.
Details on the location
and/or specialty of the treatment center have not been disclosed.
"He realized he needs
help," a source tells People of Lamar's
decision, which Khloe and other loved ones have been pushing for
since mid-summer.
Earlier this week, an unnamed
individual gave an interview in which he claimed to be Odom's drug dealer and
detailed the celebrity's ongoing cocaine
addiction.
Other reports have indicated
that Odom has been excessively taking Ambien and Oxycontin.
The 32-year old also
violated the NBA's drug policies twice in 2001 and admitted to serious
marijuana use in a 2003 interview.
"I just couldn't
control myself in L.A.... the lifestyle that I was living and the things I had
access to," he said at the time.
Let's all hope this is the
final step Lamar needs to get better.
