[Photos & Video] Boyfriend Stages Fake Arrest For Wedding Proposal Stunt & She Said YES!

One man left his girlfriend in a state of panic as he persuaded police to stage her fake arrest as part of a wacky wedding proposal. Benjamin Vienneau from New Brunswick, Canada, got an officer to pull his partner Marcia Belyea over as she was driving and threaten her with a $2,000 fee or 30 days in jail for 'unpaid fines'.

A secretly filmed YouTube video of the stunt shows Miss Belyea breaking down in tears as she sits in the sheriff's car before Mr Vienneau appears with an engagement ring and asks her to marry him.

The police officer is heard saying: 'It's highly unorthodox, it's not something the force normally does, [but] Ben and I have come to an agreement. Photos and video after cut:

'We've agreed to waive the fine and let you go if you take his hand in marriage.' He then moves to one side as Mr Vienneau gets down on one knee with the police lights continuing to flash.

'I love you so much. I want to spend the rest of my life with you,' he tells Miss Belyea, who sits wiping her eyes. Luckily she wasn't too angered by the ordeal and immediately said 'yes'.

Mr Vienneau hopes that his extreme stunt - organized with the help of his sheriff brother-in-law - will help him win a competition currently being held by New Brunswick-based, Acadia Broadcasting.

Its 'Win & Wed by the Sea' contest asks couples to send in their craziest proposal stories with the public voting for their favorite. Those whose video or story attracts the most Facebook Likes will be awarded a $20,000 cash prize towards their big day. To date, Mr Vienneau's film has attracted 380 thumbs up on the site, considerably more than the eight other competitors.

Other creative submissions included two proposals while hunting and one during a zip-line excursion. He said of his now fiancee: 'She the mother of my two young boys, I love her so much . . .  and I want to win her her dream wedding.'

Regardless of whether they win or not, the happy couple plan on tying the knot next July.
