Sepp Blatter Claims He DID NOT Resign As FIFA President

SEPP BLATTER claims he DID NOT resign as Fifa president.

The 79-year-old was understood to have ended his 17-year reign earlier this month after corruption claims engulfed football's ruling body.
But now Blatter has said: "I did not resign, I put myself and my office in the hands of the Fifa congress."
Two criminal investigations into Fifa – who reelected Blatter on June 2 – are ongoing.
Four days after being voted back into power Blatter told the Fifa congress: "While I have a mandate from the membership of Fifa, I do not feel that I have a mandate from the entire world of football.
"Therefore, I have decided to lay down my mandate at an extraordinary elective congress.
"I will continue to exercise my functions as Fifa president until that election."
Blatter, who has been widely criticised following Fifa's decision to award the 2018 and 2022 World Cups to Russia and Qatar, did not use the word resign or resignation in his speech.
Labour MP Chris Bryant said: "Sepp Blatter's antics remind me not so much of the hokey-cokey as Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction.
"It's time Fifa put an end to all this speculation, which is harming the sport, and give a final date for Blatter's departure."
A former Blatter adviser recently said the 79-year-old could break his promise to quit.
