Philadelphia officers Daniel Caban and Darrell James help an expectant mother through her Christmas Day labour.
The officers helped deliver a Christmas Day baby on a train in Philadelphia.
Sergeant Daniel Caban and Officer Darrell James boarded the Market-Frankford subway train after receiving an emergency call.
They soon discovered there was no time to get the woman to hospital - and instead they helped her deliver a healthy baby boy on the carriage.
Both mother and child were then taken to hospital in good condition.
Sgt Caban told ABC News station WPVI: "I had already opened all my presents. I didn't know I had another one waiting for me around 5:53 this afternoon!"
Officer James added: "They tell us there will be crazy days. They never told me it would be on Christmas Day now, but all in all, this is a blessing."
The pair's boss was quick to tweet his delight at the delivery.
"Transit Police SGT and PO deliver baby on Market Frankford El train!!!! WOOHOO!!! Now that's a Christmas gift!!!" posted SEPTA chief Thomas J Nestel III.
