AN 'EVIL' mother who caged her daughter in a chicken coop and shocked her with a electric dog collar has been jailed for 190 years


Cruel Diana Franklin tied her adopted girl to a tree by her neck during a shocking six-year campaign of torture.
Franklin, 48, also beat the naked child with a belt buckle and held her at gunpoint, according to reports.
The American Civil War re-enactor - who served in the US Air Force - wrote in a diary how the girl was her "slave".
She repeatedly deprived her daughter of food, water or clothing.
Sentencing her, Judge Bobby Peters said:"To me, you are just an evil woman."

The charges stem from Paul Pelton having opened a car door of the wrecked vehicle to continue recording while others tried to help the two teens. Police said Pelton can be heard on the video calling the teens ‘idiots’.

Medical Student Empties Bucket of Hot Water on Sister in Portharcourt

PUNCH Metro learnt that the victim was asleep on Friday night at their house on Road 1, Federal Housing Estate, Mile 4, Port Harcourt, when the suspect allegedly sneaked into her room and emptied a bucket of hot water on her.

The victim sustained burns from her neck region down to one of her feet.

Oluwafunke and Yemisi were stepsisters.

It was gathered that Oluwafunke’s mother separated from her daughter’s dad as soon as she was born, and she had lived with the father ever since.

He was said to have remarried a new wife, identified as Victoria, who gave birth to Yemisi and three other children. Yemisi was a student of Medicine at a university in Nassarawa State.

On September 2, PUNCH Metro learnt that there was a disagreement between Oluwafunke and her stepmother, Victoria, and during a struggle, the latter was alleged to have fallen to the ground and hit her head against the wall.

Mr. Buhari said the abuse cost the nation lives and equipment.
He made the remark while addressing members of the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

Mr. Buhari urged the legislature to collaborate with the executive arm of government to secure the country and effectively manage it.

“There are a lot of obstacles to be crossed. The objectives we have are to secure this country and effectively manage it,” the president said.

Lagos State Government Shuts 53 Churches, Mosques, Hotels Over Noise Pollution

The Lagos State Government has shut down 53 churches, mosques and hotels over noise pollution and environmental nuisance.

Some of the worship centres were shut because they were converted from residential apartments to places of worship thereby contravening the law and constituting nuisance to other neighbours.

General Manager, Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, Engr Rasheed Shabi, said the agency received lots of complaints from residents and neighbours about the nuisance constituted by the premises shut by the agency, PM News reports.

“In recent times, most of the petitions kept coming back to us. It was as if we are not working at all. That was why we shut the premises,” he said.
