A girl in Pakistan has
been arrested on suspicion of burning her father to death – after he allegedly
tried to rape her and her sisters.
The Dawn newspaper
reports that the girl told police how she planned to set her father on fire
after he allegedly tried to rape her, having already attacked her sisters.
The girl’s brother
told police that his sister had used sleeping pills to drug their father before
setting him on fire – with police revealing that the man died from his
injuries.
She has since been
taken into custody on charges of premeditated murder and punishment for
intention to cause hurt, and is being held at a police station in the capital
of Karachi.
The incident comes
after a Pakistani woman was killed last year when she was burnt to death by a
man who she had refused to marry.
She suffered huge
burns across nearly 50 percent of her body after being doused in petrol which
was then set alight – and died after her wounds become seriously infected.
