How Much Sex the Average Person is REALLY Having

WE ASKED people to be honest about how often they were getting down and dirty and the results were pretty shocking.

If you think that the happiest people are the ones who are getting it every night then think again.

A recent study claimed that the smuggest couples are indulging in sex session just once a week.

According to Canadian scientists from the University of Toronto-Mississauga, the magic number for some heavy petting was once every seven days – and doing it more often didn’t improve happiness.

But the study only included married couples so we thought we’d do a bit of our own research and get a broader perspective which included singles’ sex lives.

We posed the question “how often do you have sex?” to our Daily Star readers, but unfortunately for them it seems they’re sex lives are lacking.

Out of the 2,109 people that took part, the majority of men and women (38%) confessed to getting their rocks off less than once a week.

What’s worse, they picked the least frequent option possible in the poll.

But a quarter of lads and ladies admitted that they get quite a lot of action, with a hefty 25% saying they get between the sheets more than once a week.

Coming closely behind them, 22% reckoned they romp about once a week on average. And a very lucky 15% said that they get jiggy almost every day.

Elsewhere researchers have found that sex is much more important to women than it is to men.Women are more likely than men to split with a partner if the sex is bad.

And a third of women said they had already broken up with a lover because they were not satisfied sexually – compared to just a fifth of men.

Half of the ladies polled also said sexual technique was "very important", but only 37% of men felt the same way.

The results were revealed in a 1,750-person strong Lovehoney survey, which looked at how important orgasms were to overall sexual satisfaction.

It showed that the average duration for a woman's orgasm is a whopping 10.9 seconds, while men only get 8.7 seconds of pleasure.

Orgasms definitely play a big role in sex and 35% of men and 29% of women said they were the best thing about getting intimate with someone.
