The most arousing smell for men isn’t Chanel No. 5 or even your natural scent, it’s the aroma of pumpkins (apparently).
The sweet, spicy scent can reduce erectile dysfunction and even make you better in bed, according to research conducted by Chicago's Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Centre.
Doctor Alan Hirsch, who led the study, said that the scent of pumpkin and lavender combined increases penile blood flow by an average of 40% in participants.
So when it comes to boosting your sex life, Dr Hirsch suggests you "Throw away the perfume and go get some pumpkin pie.”
Even the seeds of the large orange fruit can increase feelings of sexual desire.
"They are very rich in zinc," Palm Beach Gardens alternative medicine expert Doctor Ralph Monserrat told WBPF. "There will be an increase in testosterone and that increase will also increase the sexual desire."
So this Halloween make sure you put every inch of the sexual fruit to good use.
Pumpkin isn’t the only smell that gets men hot under the collar. Hirsch found that vanilla was a popular stimulant and the smell of strawberries also made men think of sex.
However, don’t go reaching for the cranberry body butter, as this little red fruit only elicited a 2% increase in penile blood flow.
Pumpkin lip gloss anyone?
