Police Inspector Dupes US-Based Nigerian Lady

PM News is reporting that: A  Nigerian lady based in the United States of America, Miss Veronica Okwara, has accused an inspector in the Nigeria Police Force, Anthony Chukwu, of defrauding her of N9 million under the false pretence of marrying her.

Veronica, a medical director (administration) in North Carolina USA, alleged that Chukwu, attached to X Squad Section Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Lagos, southwest Nigeria converted the proceeds  from the sale of vehicles and other imported items she asked him to sell on her behalf, for his personal use, after he had a fake wedding with her.

Following the alleged scam, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, ordered the Interpol to investigate the matter. Thus, Chukwu was arrested and flown to the Police  Headquarters  in Abuja for interrogation.

LaBeouf Wears Paper Bag To Berlin Premiere

Shia LaBeouf wore a paper bag over his head with "I am not famous anymore" written across it for the premiere of his latest film at the Berlin Film Festival.
The actor had earlier stormed out of a news conference where he was asked about Nymphomaniac's explicit content.

Asked how it felt to perform such sexual scenes, LaBeouf took a swipe at journalists, suggesting they were like "seagulls following the trawler to get sardines".

He then walked out, leaving his co-stars Uma Thurman, Christian Slater and Charlotte Gainsbourg shocked.

The seagull quote can be attributed to ex-footballer Eric Cantona, who said virtually the same thing at a news conference in 1995 while being questioned about his conviction for assault.

Unlike Nigeria, Gays Get Refuge in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire

No kissing, no petting. As gay bars go, this one is pretty well-behaved. But the crowd packing the Abidjan venue is relaxed and happy to be part of this haven of tolerance on a hostile continent.

“In a gay club, we are much freer than in straight places,” 22-year-old student Jacques tells AFP, looking on as three men sway their hips to Ivorian music on the dance floor.

“We get no strange looks. Here we can unwind, feel at ease and let ourselves go.”

One man gently strokes his companion’s neck but displays of affection stop there. The strict social codes prevailing in Ivory Coast apply here too.
The patrons include several transvestites, one a 20-year-old teacher who goes by the name Malika, and who has been living as a woman by night and a man by day for the past three years.

Police Nab Woman For Abducting Neighbour’s Daughter

When Mrs. Funke Olowokere of Sobi Road, Ilorin, Kwara State, left her one-month-old daughter with her neighbour and friend,  Funke Odelabi, last Sunday, little did she know that she would abduct the baby.

After Olowokere, who had been washing the baby’s clothes, discovered that Odelabi had disappeared with her baby, she was said to have raised the alarm which attracted  neighbours who organised a search party for the missing girl and the suspect but all to no avail.

Parading the suspect on Saturday, the outgoing Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, Mr. Agboola  Oshodi-Glover, explained that after the residents failed to locate the suspect, the matter was reported at the police station.
